In Support of Edisto Habitat for Humanity
Edisto Habitat for Humanity believes that everyone should have a safe, healthy, and affordable place to call home.
We work with families to build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. Our purpose is to bring people together to build homes, foster community, and create opportunities for growth.
We partner with volunteers, donors, local businesses, corporations, sponsors, faith-based communities, partner organizations, in-kind donors, educational institutions, foundations, and grant providers to build the capacity to address the substandard housing conditions that many people in our community face.
Everyone deserves a home.
Edisto Habitat for Humanity's Homeownership Program is for low-to-moderate-income families who cannot qualify for a conventional home loan. Families accepted into the program must earn hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" by building the homes of other Habitat Partner Families. Once the home is complete, Edisto Habitat for Humanity sells them to the Habitat Family Partner at a zero to low interest mortgage. The homes we build are not just simple and decent but also highly affordable, thanks to our donors, volunteers, and interest-free mortgages.
